Catalytic Converter warranty's DO NOT cover check engine lights. If you are replacing a converter due to a check engine light, please take into account that if you do not fix the underlying issue that caused your converter to go bad, just replacing the converter will not clear the code. Converters are large "filters" and only filter out what your vehicle is putting through it, so if there is an issue with it running to rich or to lean or the mass airflow readings are off you will continue to have this problem until it is fixed.
