John Deere CUTTER, ROTARY - catalog of spare parts
Disc cutters are required for cutting, slitting or other operations involving the rough treatment of metal or non-metal.
Disc cutters come in three types:
spline or keyway;
bilateral;
tripartite.
Slotted disc cutters have teeth only on a cylindrical surface. To reduce friction at the ends of the cutter thickness is at the periphery more than in the Central part of the hub. An important element of the disk slot cutter is the width, as the cutter is designed including for processing grooves. An important area of application of the disk slot cutter is sawing blanks of wood and metal.
Bilateral disc cutters, except the teeth located on the cylindrical surface, have teeth at the end.
In three-sided disc cutters teeth are located on the cylindrical surface and at both ends. The cutting conditions of the end teeth are less favorable than those of the teeth located on the cylindrical surface. The shallow depth of the groove at the end makes it impossible to obtain the necessary rear and front corners.
Disc cutters with replaceable carbide inserts can be adjustable, that is, depending on the position of the cartridges to which the plates are attached, the cutter can make slots of different widths.
Cutters come with soldered plates and replaceable.
