COMMUNICATIONS AND FRAMES
We combine more than 40 years of design and field experience, as well as new inspection technologies to ensure that 992K frames, castings, welds and structures are the best in the industry. Our unique rear and front box-section frames combine plates and castings to control torsion loads and provide longer alignment to extend the service life of the hitch and pin. The sliding bearing pins in the joint are more predictable in wear and limit daily lubrication. For load and carry applications, the optional Ride Control further reduces the shock loads on the frame, providing the operator a smoother ride.
CAT C32 ENGINE
The 992K retains the strength and reliability of proven Cat C32 diesel with ACERT ™ technology. Like all Cat machines, this engine was fully integrated into all machine systems, giving power curves, fuel maps and features that are unique to this machine and applications. The solid foundation of this engine begins with our legendary foundries that supply the highest quality engine block. The electronically controlled mechanical fuel injection (MEUI ™) ensures that fuel is metered in optimal quantities for both power and efficiency.
WHEEL PLANETARY TRANSMISSION
No one creates a better transmission than Caterpillar for earth moving applications. Everything from gear geometry, heat treatment and metallurgy is controlled by the Caterpillar design, including electronics, which allows it to be integrated with the C32 engine and the 992K impeller torque converter. The Cat 992K Planetary Gearbox offers three forward and three reverse speeds. The planetary gearbox group is common for large wheel loaders 993K and 994F.
POSITIVE FLOW CONTROL HYDRAULICS
The positive flow control (PFC) 992K hydraulic system sets a new standard for hydraulic response, performance and efficiency. The attachment system is equipped with two electronically controlled piston pumps, providing a fast and productive cycle. PFC has simultaneous control of the pump and valve. By optimizing pump control, the flow of hydraulic oil is proportional to the movement of the lever of the unit. Benefits:
Reduced fuel consumption up to five percent
Improved hydraulic response allowing the operator to better feel and control the bucket
Increased energy efficiency and lower system heating
TORQUE CONVERTER OF THE IMPELLER TORQUE (ICTC) / RIMPULL CONTROL SYSTEM
The ICTC maintains a hydraulic balance when digging and loading, allowing the operator to precisely adjust the tractive effort by pressing the left pedal, thereby reducing the pressure in the impeller coupling. The further the pedal is pressed, the more pressure is reduced in the impeller sleeve.
JOINT SYSTEMS
An efficient loading / hauling system begins with a perfect match. The Model 992K is compatible with 775 and 777 Cat Trucks, providing full truckloads with minimal load times. This loading / transport system will maximize the volume of material being moved with minimal operating cost per ton.
OPERATOR COMFORT
The 992K sets a new standard for operator comfort for this size class with a completely new cab. The new cabin interior has been increased, providing operators with enough space for a long shift. Operators will appreciate this enlarged room when the standard coach position is occupied. As a benchmark, operator comfort 992K does not compromise safety. Standard 76 mm (3-inch) retractable seat belts for the operator and trainer ensure comfort while maintaining the safety of both passengers. Talking between them will be easier with a quieter cabin, while automatic temperature control ensures that they do it in full climatic comfort. Vibration is minimized thanks to the Cat Comfort air suspension seat and suspended cab. Operators will appreciate the improved air quality thanks to an airtight cabin and filtered air. Operators can set an automatic bucket height to facilitate truck loading or feed to the crusher. Attachment controls are fingertip controlled and require minimal effort.
TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
The 992K electronic systems are fully integrated to function as one machine. This integration creates a smart machine and a more informed operator, maximizing the performance of both.
VIMS 3G
Now, using the Advisor display, the Vital Information Management System (VIMS 3G) has been improved, providing more convenient interfaces and additional data logging. Since 1990, VIMS has allowed our customers and operators to work in the best possible way and ensure maximum uptime of our machines using meaningful data.
OPERATOR PROFILE
Up to 10 separate operator profiles can be saved using the advisor. The screen layout and machine settings can be instantly recalled, providing fast and consistent setup between operators.
DOWNLOAD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Payload 3.0 control system is standard on 992K, giving owners and operators the ability to control the payload of trucks and create accurate recordings of material movement. This system is designed for weighing on the go. Up to 1000 trucks can store 25 different materials for the all-round accuracy of recording jobs.
AUTOMATED OUTPUT
Operators can easily set the unloading height, return to digging / carrying or bucket angle, without leaving the cab. Standard programmable cab outputs are located in the upper left panel. This feature provides greater flexibility and improved performance when the work requires loading and resetting the specified heights.
PRODUCT LINK
Cat® Product Link provides convenient remote monitoring of equipment. Get useful information to keep your work schedule, maintain machine availability, and reduce the cost of owning and operating a fleet.
SECURITY
We are constantly improving our products to provide a safe working environment for the operator and those who work in your workplace. Here are just some of the security features found on the 992K.
Wider staircases with improved stair angles increase operator safety at entry and exit from 992K.
Aisles offer non-slip surfaces, and built-in blocking / marking points are provided in service areas.
Windshield cleaning platforms provide safe and convenient access for the operator.
Extensive glass in the cab and optional heated mirrors expand the view. An object detection system (rear-view camera and radar) or a rear-view camera option increases operator awareness around the machine.
Backup is standard and operators receive three levels of warning when the car needs attention.
Available HID lamps provide excellent visibility of the workspace.
The operator`s coach position allows your experienced professionals to lead new operators. 76 mm (3 in) wide seat belts are standard for both seats.

QUALITATIVE
Caterpillar`s commitment to quality is great. We design to higher standards so that your business can flourish.
All our items are tested for quality and compliance. We collaborate with suppliers in the early design stages for their knowledge and production experience.
New designs are analyzed by the finite element method, telling us where the loads occur under loads that are typical for the application of the machine. New castings are practically controlled to assess the quality of the filling and the temperature exchange.
A shaking table simulates thousands of hours of use per day, which allows engineers to check for durability. Further analysis of airflow, ergonomics, performance and compliance with the ISO standard is carried out on prototypes and field machines.
Further tests are performed by operators and technicians for comfort, ergonomics and ease of maintenance in virtual 3D environments or on hardware.
You should be aware that all the innovations presented at Caterpillar depend on your opinion and opinions, the opinions of our dealers and their mechanics, as well as our ability to physically make a new design. These are just some of the criteria that make Cat products industry leaders and help us provide reliable, durable machines for your business.
STABILITY
Our commitment to you, your business, and future generations is as strong as the machines we build. Our efforts to create machines that live longer, use less resources and produce less emissions are just the beginning. Our plants, such as the 992K Aurora plant, save precious energy and resources with solar energy, roof gardens and comprehensive recycling programs. Sustainable development is beneficial. Our cleaner environment helps us control the quality of the assembly line and create better products. This reduces our demand for energy and our products to landfill. We can also help your business with machines that lead the industry in balancing fuel use with performance requirements. Each generation of Cat products produces less emissions than the last, which helps reduce carbon emissions in your fleet.
BUCKETS
Choosing the right bucket will dictate the performance of your loader. The selection process begins with knowledge of the density of the loaded material. From there, you can choose the size and appropriate protection strategies that will meet the nominal payload goals of your machine. With a large selection of earth moving tools, your Cat dealer can help you create the bucket that best suits your application. Custom baskets are optional, but many 992K customers will choose one of the following:
HEAVY MANDATORY ROCKY BUCKET
Scopes: face loading of densely condensed pit materials. Moderate attrition rates and high impact loads are suitable for this bucket.
HIGH ABRASION ROCK BUCKET
Scopes: face loading of iron ore. For this bucket, high abrasive and moderate shock loads are suitable. Smooth floors are also desirable. Note. Some applications may be very abrasive. Keep in mind that additional bucket protection can affect machine performance, such as higher power, load on fuel, and performance. With this in mind, it is important that you do not overly protect the bucket and interchangeable bucket components.
BUCKET GROUND INSTRUMENTS
You cannot buy a more efficient or more durable tip than Cat K Series Ground tools. Other than the missing operator, nothing will affect the performance of your forklift, so consult your Cat dealer if your current system does not meet expectations. When materials such as iron ore are worn, the K-series is easily replaced - no hammer is required. Typical 992K grounding tools include: Adapters and lugs: Strong penetration - Strong abrasion - Penetrating protection of the side bars Lower edges of the bucket wings.
