SPECIFIC CONFIGURATION OF APPLICATION - MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE AND PERFORMANCE AT MINIMUM OPERATING EXPENSES

COOLING SYSTEM

An optional variable pitch fan automatically cleans the cooler cores, periodically reversing the airflow if necessary. This fan is useful for providing more airflow in the opposite direction (compared to a system that simply reverses the rotation of the fan), which more thoroughly removes any accumulations of debris in the cooling cores. A variable pitch fan reduces the need for an air stick used to clean the back side of the cooler cores. For very high debris applications that are often found in billions, consider connecting a variable pitch fan with additional high debris cooling cores to get a reliable solution and reduce maintenance.

The optional oil cooling system in the axles provides the ability to dissipate the heat generated at high energy consumption, such as braking under heavy loads or long-term driving on the road.

AIR SYSTEMS

In combination with the standard pre-filter plates, an additional turbine engine pre-filter prolongs the life of the filter element and helps to supply clean air to the engine under conditions of heavy pollution, throwing out dust and similar materials before it ever reaches the air cleaner. Similar in function, Cat Advanced Cabin Filtration (ACF) pre-filter is also available to extend cabin filter maintenance intervals.

SECURITY

Depending on the level of protection required, three additional barrier designs are offered that help protect the cabin glass from damage when working in harsh forest conditions. There are two options for protecting the front windshield and full cab glass protection. By protecting the underside of the machine, powertrain protection prevents the accumulation of debris and damage to major components or systems, such as an engine or transmission.

ACCESS ENGINE

The Cat`s sloped one-piece oblique casing provides industry-leading engine access. Its design provides best-in-class service access to the engine, oil levels and the coolant level sensor.

COOLING SYSTEM

The cooling system is easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance. With nine cooling fins per 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) and perforated grill, most of the airborne debris entering the system passes through the core of the cooler. The hydraulic and cooling cores of the air conditioner are folded back, providing easy access to both sides for cleaning. The access panel on the left side of the cooling pack swings out, providing access to the back side of the engine coolant and air cooler after cooling (ATAAC). An optional variable pitch fan can automatically clean the cooler cores, periodically reversing the air flow if necessary.

SERVICE CENTRES

Electrical and hydraulic service centers provide group access to numerous functions, increasing safety and convenience for your operators and technicians, while reducing maintenance time.

The maintenance center, located below the left platform, contains maintenance-free batteries, a fuse relay panel, a main disconnector, a motor switch at ground level, a hood tilt switch, and an external start jack.

Components of the hydraulic system are protected by full flow and filtration in the renal loop. The filter in the return line of the hydraulic tank filters all the oil returned to the tank. There is also a protective screen for additional protection and, finally, a separate filter with a renal loop with a thinner micron rating, which continuously filters out small particles from the system. This multi-level design ensures the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil and fully protects the rest of the hydraulic system from contamination. To improve the warm-up of the hydraulic system, a thermal bypass valve has been added.

Hydraulic service centers are now almost identical for the M-Series product line. This sequential scheme facilitates the work of service technicians who work with various M-Series models.
