ENGINE
The 3408C engine is a field-tested engine that provides excellent reliability and durability in all applications.
HIGH MOMENT
The 18-liter engine provides high torque, providing an excellent payload for more efficient movement of heavy loads.
SIMPLICITY
A mechanically controlled engine provides ease of maintenance and repair in hard-to-reach places where diagnostic tools may not be available.
HIGH-STRENGTH BLOCK
The block 3408C is cast from high-strength gray cast iron. Solid casting is stabilized to maintain internal dimensions under all operating conditions.
COOLING
The upper deck`s internal cooling shelf increases the flow of coolant to the top of the cylinders, ensuring the long life of the cylinder liner and piston. The design of the bottom with a deep cut and heavy internal ribs gives the block strength and rigidity.
Forged carbon steel crankshaft
Crankshaft - carbon steel forging, fully heat-treated, super-machined and dynamically balanced.
TWO-COMPONENT COOLING SYSTEM
It circulates refrigerant from the partitioned lower tank up through one side of the cooling element and down through the other side, returning it to the lower tank.
MODULAR DESIGN
The cooling elements are separate main modules that are connected to a sectional lower reservoir. No top tank to remove.
With standard 9 steel ribs per inch, lower rib density reduces clogging.
Brass construction inside each core for increased reliability.
Additional core configurations are available for applications with high ambient temperatures and / or high wear.
SIMPLE SERVICE
Maintenance can be performed without tilting the radiator screen. Each main module can be replaced individually (without removing the entire radiator), which saves significant costs and repair time.
PROTECTION AGAINST LEAKAGES
To reduce the likelihood of leakage of coolant, brass pipes are welded to a large thick collector, which increases the strength of the tube-manifold connection.
INSTRUMENTS
In conditions where abrasive materials are in the air, use an additional fan with a coating and a sandblast grille to minimize damage to the radiator.
TRANSMISSION
A Cat Cat planetary gearbox with power shift provides three forward and three backward speeds. Thanks to this design, many gears distribute the load when it is transmitted to the axle. On the contrary, with a gearbox with an intermediate shaft, only one gearbox carries the load.
BEVEL GEAR DESIGN
Spiral and spiral bevel gears reduce the noise level of the operator and the viewer, both in design and in position, being placed in the back of the machine.
Oil Cooled Packages
The transmission is equipped with large oil-cooled clutch packs that effectively absorb shear energy in the direction, ensuring smooth machine operation and excellent operator comfort. The patented clutch material F37 prolongs the life of the clutch, especially in cases where intensive maneuvering is used to ensure maximum machine performance. This material also minimizes transmission oil pollution compared to materials used in transmissions from other manufacturers.
SEPARATE TRANSMISSION OIL RESERVOIR
The gearbox oil pan is separated from both main drive tanks, which prevents cross-contamination in the event of a failure of any system. This allows the use of modular components to maximize uptime during the life of the tractor.
CLUTCH / BRAKE STEERING
Levers with a combined steering, disengaging the control clutch and pressing the brake pedal for each track.
SPECTACLE
In terms of ease of use, planetary gearing provides significant benefits. Modular design simplifies removal and installation. Since bevel gears and cogwheels are manufactured with such a high degree of accuracy, they do not need to be wound and assembled into kits, which reduces repair costs.
PERFORMANCE MOMENT
An improved single-stage torque converter transmits 75% of engine torque through a converter and 25% through a direct drive shaft to increase transmission efficiency and increase torque. The torque divider provides increased efficiency and a wider range of performance when dispensing second gear and pushing the scraper load.
EFFICIENCY OF EFFICIENCY AND RELIABILITY OF THE DRIVER
A torque divider protects the transmission from sudden shocks and vibrations.
MECHANISM STATOR
Improves the efficiency of the torque divider. While the machine is operating at low loads on the tongue, the stator can rotate for maximum efficiency. The result is a decrease in heating and an increase in fuel efficiency.
MAIN ADVANTAGES OF MOMENT DIVIDERS
High reliability.
Proven component design.
Low dynamic torque.
The optimal combination of operator efficiency and transmission reliability.
Components are designed for full engine power.
Increased torque to move heavy loads.
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK
A minor but important by-product of the torque divider is its tendency to increase the lug of the engine until the engine stops. This gives the operator additional feedback regarding tractor speed and drawbar thrust.
MONITORING SYSTEM
Provides operator with instant feedback on the status of operating systems and records performance data to help diagnose problems. Sensors monitor the fuel level and engine coolant temperature, hydraulic oil, and power train oil. Includes alarm indicators that monitor engine oil pressure, coolant flow, electrical system, and transmission oil filter.
INTERIOR STORAGE AND AMENITIES
Includes intermittent wipers, 12-volt electrical outlet, storage space for first-aid kits, interior door latches, lunch box mounts, cup holder, console supports, standard 24 - 12 V converter, speakers, and antenna.
COMFORTABLE OPERATION
Extra insulated cab reduces noise and vibration. The Cat Comfort Series seat is fully adjustable and designed for comfort and support. Seat and back cushions are thicker to reduce pressure on the lower back and hips, while providing unlimited movements of the arms and legs.
WIDE PANORAMIC VIEW
A conical hood and a “toothed” fuel tank provide the operator with a clear line of sight to the front and rear of the work area. The low rear window allows the operator to see the tip of the ripper. Large single-pane door windows provide clear vision on each side without tilting.
PLATFORM FOR OPERATORS WITH INSTALLATION
The D9R is equipped with an isolated carrier platform with standard ROPS / FOPS.
Mainframe
The D9R mainframe is designed to absorb shock shock loads and torsional forces arising from heavy dosing and loosening operations.
HEAVY STEEL MOLDING
The main body, the equalizer seat and the front cross member are heavy-duty steel castings built into the loaded sections of the main frame to improve stress distribution and increase durability.
FRAME RAILS
Full box section for rigid component alignment.
Upper and lower rails
The upper and lower rails are made of continuous rolled profiles, providing excellent durability of the main frame.
MAIN CASE
Raises the onboard gear units well above the work area at ground level to protect them from shock loads, abrasion and contamination.
PIVOT SHAFT AND PIN BALL EQUALIZER
Keep the guide roller frame leveling and let the frame swing for a smoother ride.
EQUALIZER BAR END PINS
Proper lubrication on work surfaces can significantly extend component life and reduce maintenance costs. Remote lubrication is performed from a maintenance point, conveniently located on the left side of the engine compartment, and allows the operator or service technician to lubricate both the pin bearings and the left and right side pins of the equalizer from one maintenance point.
TAG-LINK
Installing the Tag-Link blade brings the blade closer to the machine for superior maneuverability, balance of the machine and blade penetration. This design also eliminates the need for a diagonal mount by transferring lateral loads to the base unit instead of the pushing arms of the bulldozer.
RUNNING
A raised sprocket and fully suspended chassis work together, increasing traction, creating a smoother ride for your operators. The design with a raised sprocket transfers shock loads to the base unit, so the main gears, axles and steering components are isolated from sharp blows. These benefits lead to increased productivity and longer component life.
The suspension of the trolley allows the caterpillar to match the conditions of the ground, providing 15% more contact with the ground, especially on crossed and uneven surfaces. Higher grip means less slippage, better balance and a smoother ride.
Roller frames are tubular to resist bending and twisting, with additional reinforcement where there are maximum workloads.
The chassis guard provides additional wear protection against abrasive material to the moving chassis. Includes rubber protective caps.
POSITIVE Holding Pin (PPR), SEALED AND GREASED TRACK
Designed for use under high loads. Caterpillar PPR`s exclusive design blocks the pin connection, reducing the likelihood of premature loss of lubricant. The sealed design constantly covers the guide axle with lubricant, minimizing metal-to-metal contact and virtually eliminating the wear of the inner pin and sleeve.
BULLDOZERS
All blades have a sturdy box construction that resists twisting and cracking. Blades are made of high strength steel that is suitable for the most demanding applications.
High-performance utility knife - effective when moving large loads over long distances.
Semi-Universal Blade - Designed for harsh environments in tightly packed material where penetration is important.
Additional double tilt - allows the operator to optimize the angle of the blade.
Cutting edges and butt edges - Cutting edges made of DH-2 ™ steel. DH-3 ™ tail bits ensure maximum durability in hard materials. For extremely heavy duty applications, wear plates for the forming fabric, tips with an extended service life and cutting edges are available.
Cat Work Tools offers a number of special blades, including coal storage blades, dozer blades, regeneration blades and wood chips.
The Rippers
Single shank ripper - Designed for harsh conditions and greater depth. The operator can adjust the depth of the shank from the seat using a removable single rod puller. Large one-piece shank available in deep gap configuration.
Multi-shoulder ripper - as a rule, for easier loosening conditions in less heavy materials. Provides a high level of performance. It adjusts the tractor to the material using one, two or three shanks.
CAPSURE ™ SAFETY PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR TIPER AND REAR REFRIGERANT CAPSURE ™
The tip and shank protection are easily installed using a 180-degree ratchet mechanism. This simple installation means no impact and, therefore, increased safety. It also means faster replacement and less downtime.
REAR CONTRADICTIONS
Ensure the correct balance of the tractor to maximize the production of dosing. It is recommended if the bulldozer is not equipped with any other rear attachments.
BUILT-IN EASY EASY
The main components are made in the form of modules and can be removed without disturbing or removing others.
SPIN FILTERS
Screw-on fuel and engine oil filters save replacement time. Further time is saved thanks to a quick change of fuel and nozzles for changing the oil.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
To improve the reliability and maintenance of the electrical system, sealed electrical connectors are used in most places. Harness connectors better protect against dust and moisture than bullet or metal twist connectors.
ENVIRONMENTAL DRAINS
Provide an environmentally friendly way to drain fluids. Complete radiator, hydraulic tank and the main components of power transmission.
