The CS56B Vibratory Soil Compactor combines world-class performance with outstanding operator comfort, while maintaining the durability, reliability and ease of maintenance that contractors around the world expect from Cat® machines. Series B uses a proven Cat pod vibration system. The design of the system significantly reduces the risk of contamination that is typical of traditional structures that use metal weights. Providing unsurpassed reliability and performance, the Cat pod vibration system is virtually maintenance-free; the first planned maintenance period is 3 years or 3,000 hours.

Vibratory Series B soil compactors provide enhanced compaction performance by increasing amplitude. The maximum amplitude is currently one of the highest in the industry, and it provides more opportunities for the introduction of compaction energy into the earth.

AUTO-VIBE

There is a new automatic vibration feature. When the vibration is on, the vibration will stop as the seal slows down below the set speed. When the motion resumes, the vibration resumes at a given speed. This feature contributes to uniform, high-quality work.

Smooth drum

Smooth drums are ideal for compacting bulk materials and can be equipped with an extra set of liners for compacting cohesive and semi-bonded materials.

UNIVERSAL BUMPER

The universal bumper helps to increase the weight of the drum, and also facilitates equipping the machine with an additional set of covers for the feet.

DOUBLE PUMP SYSTEM

Cat`s exclusive two-way pumping system delivers stable hydraulic flow for unsurpassed evasion and blade function, and has now been electronically enhanced for even greater productivity. The dual pump drive system provides separate hydraulic flow to the rear wheels and the drum for exceptional traction in thick lifts, in soft foot conditions or on steep slopes, and also provides excellent control on forward and backward slopes.

CAT DIESEL ENGINE WITH ACERT ™ TECHNOLOGY

Vibratory Series B soil compactors are equipped with a Cat engine with ACERT ™ technology that provides increased efficiency, ease of maintenance, sufficient power and lower noise levels. Cat engines use ACERT building blocks to meet emission standards. This innovative combination provides cleaner combustion and provides stable power in all operating conditions with optimum fuel efficiency.

BIG COOLING PACKAGE

Vibratory compactors of the B series are equipped with a large cooling pack and variable speed fan. A large system helps maintain operating temperatures within optimal limits. A speed-controlled fan reduces energy consumption by operating only at the speed required to cool the system. Reduced power consumption contributes to more efficient use of fuel.

ECO-MODE

Vibratory soil compactors of the B series are equipped with an eco-mode that helps save fuel consumption. When the machine is idling for a predetermined period of time, the eco mode is activated and the engine speed is reduced. When the drive turns on, higher engine speeds are resumed. For certain applications, the eco mode can be enabled to operate the engine at lower revs than normal. Lower engine speeds result in less fuel consumption. Eco-mode can also be programmed to completely turn off the engine after a user-defined time.

AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL

Automatic speed control is a feature that allows the operator to select the maximum operating speed. After selecting the speed, you can consistently achieve by activating the stroke lever to full speed. Constant speed improves the quality of the seal, as it makes it easier to maintain uniformity of the seal.

ROPS / FOPS CONFIGURATION

The ROPS / FOPS configuration has handrails that cover the platform area. The multi-position steering wheel adjusts comfort. Adjustable swivel vinyl seat with seat belt and integrated operator display is convenient and provides easy access to controls and work information. A 12-volt power adapter provides power to personal electronic devices. The rug reduces vibrations. A specially designed device allows the operator to safely store lunch boxes. Cup holders are provided on the steering column. Large mirrors provide excellent visibility to the rear of the car. An additional package of mirrors to improve rear visibility is available as an option.

ROPS / FOPS CAB CONFIGURATION

The ROPS / FOPS cab is an advanced design that provides greater operator comfort. The cab is equipped with a multi-position steering wheel that regulates operator comfort. An adjustable swivel fabric seat with a safety belt and an integrated operator display makes it easy to control controls and work information. A 12-volt power adapter provides power to personal electronic devices. The rug reduces vibration. Glass panels and large exterior mirrors provide excellent visibility to the rear of the machine. Operator comfort is enhanced by climate control, including heater and air conditioning. Large windows on the doors and on the right side of the cabin are wide open for maximum ventilation. The cockpit is pre-connected to add radio (not included). The fabric headliner provides an elegant, finished look. As an option, a set of interior mirrors and a luxurious fabric seat with a high back are offered.

PLACE OF OPERATOR

The new standard operator seat design rotates right by 20 degrees and combines the grip and control console with an LCD display on the right armrest. The design allows controls and display to conveniently follow the operator when turning the seat. The seat has a retractable seat belt. ROPS / FOPS machines will have a vinyl weatherproof seat. Machines that are configured in the ROPS / FOPS cab will have a fabric seat. A luxurious seat with a high back and air suspension is offered as an option on cab-equipped machines.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL LCD DISPLAY

The operator`s seat has a standard control console with a multifunctional LCD display built into the seat lever. The display functions as a measuring cluster, and also provides diagnostics and additional data for the operator. Machines that are equipped with a Cat seal monitoring system also display seal measurement results on the display.

OPTION FOR CAT COOPERATION MANAGEMENT

Two compaction measurement technologies are available.

Two different seal measurement technologies are available: seal meter value (CMV) or machine drive power (MDP). Both technologies display real-time measurements on the LCD.

COMPACT MEASUREMENT VALUE (CMV)

Compression Meter Value (CMV) is an accelerometer-based measurement system for granular soils. It is only available for smooth drum type compactors (CS models). Functioning during the vibration of the drum, it measures the depth from 1.0 to 1.2 m (3-4 feet), giving the operator an idea of ​​what is beneath the surface. CMV can reveal many things to a trained operator, for example, the location of hidden anomalies (hidden objects, stones, clay balls, etc.) or areas of poor compaction. It may even indicate the need for more moisture to aid compaction.

DRIVER POWER MACHINE (MDP)

Drive power (MDP) is an exclusive technology available only from Caterpillar. MDP shows soil stiffness by measuring rolling resistance. It is available on all Cat B-Series soil compactors - both on smooth drums and on feet. It can also be used on sleek drum machines equipped with leg shells. It is effective on all types of soil and can function when the drum is stationary or vibrates. MDP measures closer to the depth of ascent of compacted materials, about 30-60 cm (1-2 feet) deep. MDP is more flexible than CMV because it can be used on all types of soil and because it measures smaller than CMV, which allows comparison of results with portable measuring equipment, such as light falling deflectometers and nuclear sensors. Since no drum vibration is required, the risk of decompression when used for testing is reduced.

GNSS MAPPING OPPORTUNITY

Cat packing monitoring can be expanded by adding an additional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) mapping antenna and a dedicated display unit that provides SBAS-level accuracy and allows the operator to visually monitor results, compare them with locations, and save data for analysis. or for documentation purposes. The ability to display RTK GNSS is also available, which provides greater accuracy than SBAS

INCLINED COOLING PACKAGE

Cooling pack tilts for easy cleaning. Normal cleaning ensures that cooling systems completely protect the engine.

Long service intervals

Long service intervals contribute to increased productivity and lower owning and operating costs. The frequency of changing the oil in the vibration system is 3 years / 3000 hours. The hydraulic oil service interval is 3000 hours. Engine oil is serviced every 500 hours.
