STANDARD ORGANIZATION

The standard layout is designed for exceptional all-round performance. Three factors in total give 9% more power on wheels than 793C, including: engine power 5% more; Common Rail hydraulic system for improved powertrain efficiency; and a hydraulically driven fan that reduces parasitic load, operating only when necessary. More power on the wheels reduces cycle times and reduces costs per ton.

EXTENDED LIFE WHEEL GROUPS

This design, designed for traction work in mountainous terrain, is designed to extend the service life of the wheels and traction characteristics during long ascents up the hill. Extended wheel groups are made from larger and more durable components, including larger spindles, extended spacing between wheel bearings, an extended brake surface and an extended material life for the friction disc material to increase brake service life and longer repair time.

ADDITIONAL SPEED

Designed for use on long-haul flights, the additional maximum speed configuration provides an increase in maximum speed by 10% to 60 km / h (37 mph) thanks to a new group of input dispensers. This arrangement also includes extended life groups.

ADDITIONAL DELAY

This configuration, designed for use in downhill conditions, usually provides an additional deceleration rate of 35% more speed on slopes. Additional deceleration is achieved by adding stronger wheel groups, larger brakes, an increased lifetime of the friction material, and additional cooling capacity.

HYDRAULIC CONTROL SYSTEM

The system, also known as Common Rail hydraulics, reduces parasitic (unused, wasted) losses in the components of the power management system and the new hydraulic fan drive system. The system is controlled by two new variable displacement piston pumps. These pumps mainly provide steering and cooling functions and are independent of brake circuit and lift. One pump is designed for a new hydraulic fan drive system on demand. The other pump feeds the new priority valve and provides hydraulic pressure and flow for steering, brake cooling, rear axle (RAX) filtration and optional RAX cooling systems. The system continues to give priority to the steering system when using an improved power management scheme for brake cooling and RAX functions. By reducing losses, the system is able to provide more power on the ground.

Friction material with an increased service life has double the service life compared to standard brakes and is twice as resistant to glazing for a more stable braking power with less noise

BRAKE CONSTRUCTION

Cat oil cooled disc brakes are designed with large discs and plates for reliable performance without adjustment and performance. Brakes are fully enclosed and sealed to prevent contamination and reduce maintenance.

LONG LIFE

Oil film prevents direct contact between the discs. This design absorbs braking forces by shifting the oil molecules and removing heat to prolong the service life of the brake.

Pistons

The Caterpillar two-component piston design integrates maintenance, auxiliary, parking brake and deceleration functions in one system. The primary piston hydraulically activates both service and delay functions. The secondary piston is spring-loaded and held in the disengaged position by hydraulic pressure. If the pressure in the hydraulic system drops below a specified level, the spring-loaded secondary piston automatically activates the brakes.

HAND BRAKE

A water-cooled, spring-loaded parking brake is applied to all four wheels, providing excellent parking capacity on all inclines up to 15 percent.

HYDRAULIC AUTOMATIC DELAY CONTROL (HARC)

The electronically controlled hydraulically activated automatic retarder control system controls the deceleration on a slope to maintain optimum engine speed and oil cooling. Additional braking can be applied using a manual retarder or brake pedal. HARC is deactivated when the operator applies a brake or accelerator control.

QUICK SPEED

HARC allows the operator to maintain the optimum engine speed for faster descent and improved performance.

Top control

Automatic brake modulation provides a smoother ride and better control in slippery conditions, allowing the operator to focus on driving.

EASY OPERATION

HARC improves operating convenience, which increases operator confidence and reduces fatigue.

Motor overspeed protection

Automatically activates HARC when the engine speed exceeds the factory-set levels, regardless of operator inputs, to avoid potentially dangerous overspeeding of the engine.

FOUR ANGULAR ABSENCE

A four-turn delay with a 60/40 percent split (rear / front) when braking provides excellent control in slippery conditions. A balanced braking torque at the front and rear ensures exceptional braking performance and minimizes wheel lock, especially during deceleration.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (TCS)

Electronically monitors and controls rear wheel slip for greater traction and improved truck performance in poor conditions under your feet. If the slip exceeds the set limit, oil-cooled disc brakes are activated to slow the spinning wheel. Torque is automatically transmitted to the wheel with improved grip.

DIFFERENTIAL ACTION

Normal differential action provides excellent maneuvering and handling in slippery conditions.

INTEGRATED BRAKE MANAGEMENT (IBC)

Combines hydraulic automatic retarder control (HARC) and traction control (TCS) into one integrated brake control system for optimum efficiency, performance and reliability.

FUEL EFFICIENCY

The engine provides additional deceleration, working against compression on slopes. When braking, the ECM engine does not inject fuel into the cylinders for exceptional fuel economy.
