VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT PUMP

All Cat FTS Series 2 tracked feller bunchers are equipped with variable displacement pumps for handling and performing functions, as well as a special variable displacement pump for felling attachments. For all models, an additional hydraulic system is available for cleaning or machining heads, as well as intermittent saw heads.

FLEXIBILITY OF VALVE DESIGN

There are two hydraulic implement valves that allow you to configure the machine to work with different felling heads. The valve design maximizes the versatility of the machine. Valve 1) Felling heads requiring a high flow of 170-190 l / min (45-50 gallons per minute) to the grips and shoulders of the battery. As a rule, one cylinder works with each lever, two cylinders for each set. Valve 2) Felling heads requiring low flow rates of 110-120 l / min (29-32 gallons per minute) for controlling grippers and batteries. Usually one hydraulic cylinder and connecting lever activate a set of levers. Note. Consult the manufacturer of the working tool for flow requirements before selecting one of the above hydraulic devices.

CAT HYDRAULIC OIL

Provides maximum protection against mechanical and corrosive wear in all hydraulic systems. High zinc content reduces wear and prolongs pump life. Bio-Degradable Hydraulic Oil (HEES) is also available from your Cat dealer and provides an environmentally friendly alternative to mineral-based oils.

TOUGHGUARD ™ Hoses

Durable hoses along the boom and stick provide durability and flexibility. The ToughGuard cover consists of a thin layer of UHMW polyethylene, combined with a rubber coating that provides exceptional abrasion resistance.

OPERATOR COMFORT

The operator’s workplace is equipped with comfortably positioned joysticks and an ergonomic, pneumatic actuator seat that reduces operator fatigue and provides ease of operation. The HVAC system with updated air ducts provides better cooling and heating. A large side window with a side screen provides fresh air into the cabin, and a separately installed cabin and engine reduce noise and vibration for a quiet and comfortable environment for the operator. Ergonomically located pedals with adjacent steps provide operator comfort while the vehicle is moving.

TRANSPARENCY

The cab design optimizes the support structures and window layout to provide an excellent view of the operator from the front, side and rear. Large polycarbonate ceiling luminaire provides excellent upward visibility.

SECURITY

A standard 32 mm (1.25 inch) Margard front window provides maximum operator protection. All purpose built log cabins are designed with enhanced protection to meet the requirements of FOPS / ROPS / OPS / WCB, OR-OSHA. The roof window provides an alternative exit hatch.

MONITOR

The IQAN MD3 display allows the operator to constantly monitor the operating system of the machine. The monitor has been slightly reduced to improve operator viewing in the front right corner of the cab. The IQAN control system allows the operator to adjust control parameters, maximizing performance and productivity.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The Series 2 tracked feller bunchers are equipped with a 24-volt electrical system with a 24-12 V converter in the cab, two 12-volt cabins in one cab, and one 24-volt power point. Power is provided by two 12-volt unattended batteries and a 95 amp generator. An optional cold weather launcher may be selected to provide two additional batteries, an HD starter and HD cables.

OTHER ADVANTAGES:

A large storage area behind the seat provides plenty of room for the lunch box, hard hat and work tools.

GROUND CLEARANCE

FTS cars have excellent ground clearance and open body design. This provides increased mobility by eliminating interference from large stumps, stones, or other obstacles encountered in difficult working conditions.

TRAIL GUARDS

All models are equipped with bolt-on protective tracks along the entire length to maximize shoe support in all types of terrain.

BODY CAR

The 541 Series 2 is equipped with a bolted crawler frame for body design. This provides a standard gauge or allows you to adjust the gauge to improve the stability of the machine and improve performance when working on steep slopes. The design of the car body provides maximum ground clearance and a smooth surface so as not to cling to debris or large obstacles. The high-precision, precision-welded casing has robust frames that reduce bending and increase the durability of the rollers and tracks throughout the life of the machine.

MEDIATED ROLLERS

This FTS Series 2 model offers a choice of either standard single-flange support rollers for moderate terrain and warm climates, or star-shaped support rollers for harsh terrain and cold climates. Nine lower rollers on each side.

BOOM AND STICK

Tracked feller buncher series 541 dominates in terms of carrying capacity over competitors in its class size. Possessing the best on the market capacity, reach and ability to tighten the handle, this machine provides high performance. Optional configurations of long and short feller bunchers are available, providing the same high output.

TOOLS

From cutting plantations to choosing large-diameter timber, Cat logging equipment provides reliable and efficient logging solutions. They range from 572 mm (22.5 inches) to 620 mm (24.4 inches). Designed to maximize visibility of the cutting area, all saws use high-pressure hydraulics to quickly recover the saw and fast manipulator speed. This provides a positive impact on production and better control of the trees.
