Caterpillar CHALLENGER - catalog of spare parts
Tracked challenger tractors have more traction than wheeled tractors. The main disadvantage of most challenger tractors is the impossibility of moving along asphalt roads without destroying the coating, with the exception of tractors with rubber caterpillars. Small speeds of tracked tractors (5-40 km / h) are compensated by reduced pressure on the ground due to the large area of contact with the ground, with the same mass as that of the wheeled tractor. Tracked tractors are widely used in agriculture, on weakly bearing soils and in industry because of their unpretentiousness. Depending on the purpose, tractors differ significantly in design solutions.
